The oil content in the compressed air of screw air compressors is high, which is commonly known as the problem of oil leakage in air compressors. There are various reasons for oil leakage in air compressors, which can cause headaches for users. Below, we will share with you various reasons and solutions for oil leakage in air compressors:
1. Excessive oil filling in the screw causes the liquid level to exceed the upper limit, resulting in a deterioration of the initial separation effect of the oil separation barrel. The oil content of the compressed air through the oil separation core increases, exceeding the processing capacity of the oil separation and the return oil volume of the return oil pipe, resulting in an increase in the oil content after fine separation.
Solution: Stop the machine and check the oil level to ensure that the oil level is between the upper and lower markings during shutdown.
2. The screw oil has poor oil quality, poor defoaming performance, and there are many foam. The foam enters the oil separation core, resulting in an increase in oil content after refined separation.
Solution: Change the engine oil and use Jaguars original screw oil.
3. Mixing different grades of engine oil can cause deterioration or gum formation, resulting in clogging and deformation of the oil separation core, and the compressed air containing oil is directly discharged.
Solution: Replace the oil separator, change the engine oil, clean the oil circuit, and use Jaguar original consumables and engine oil.
4. Low usage frequency, adjusted exhaust temperature, and high cooling water flow rate of the water cooler result in the exhaust temperature being lower than the pressure dew point temperature, causing saturated water vapor after air compression to condense into liquid water and precipitate in the oil, causing the liquid level to rise and oil to escape. Over time, it will also lead to internal rust, severe wear of rotor bearings due to loss of lubrication, and even scrapping.
Solution: ① If there is only a small amount of condensate in the early stage of the problem, simply drain the condensate and raise the exhaust temperature. ② If there is a lot of water, it is necessary to replace the oil separator, oil filter, and engine oil at the same time If the rotor has rusted and there are abnormal noises and vibrations, then the machine head needs to be repaired. be careful! Because the pressure dew point temperature varies with exhaust pressure and atmospheric temperature and humidity, it is already set at the factory. It is recommended to consult Jaguars professional after-sales service personnel before setting it.
5. Improper installation of the air pipeline caused the condensate water in the pipeline to flow back into the air compressor after shutdown. The valve core of the minimum pressure valve froze and became stuck after soaking in water. After losing its seal, the condensate water in the pipeline entered the oil separation tank, causing the liquid level to rise and oil to escape.
Solution: ① Consult Jaguars professional after-sales service personnel to improve the air duct. ② Refer to items ①, ②, and ③ in Article 4 for handling.
6. Return oil pipeline: poor installation with internal leakage, insufficient length of return oil pipeline, return oil pipeline not in the middle position, blockage of return oil pipeline, poor sealing of return oil one-way valve, resulting in the inability of oil after oil separation treatment to flow back and be discharged with compressed air.
Solution: Check the return oil pipeline and one-way valve, adjust or replace them.
7. Improper selection, pipeline leakage, and increased use of gas equipment result in air consumption far exceeding the rated displacement of the air compressor, leading to a decrease in exhaust pressure. In a state of reduced pressure, the flow rate of compressed air increases with the decrease in pressure (after the pressure decreases, the exhaust volume remains almost unchanged, the oil filtration area remains unchanged, and the volume of compressed air will increase). The faster the flow rate, the worse the oil mist interception effect of the oil fraction, resulting in an increase in the oil content of compressed air.
Solution: ① When selecting, it is necessary to fully understand the gas consumption and leave appropriate expansion space. ② Check the leakage points of the gas supply pipeline and gas equipment and plug them. ③ Add an air compressor.
8. The minimum pressure valve is malfunctioning, the spring is aging and weak, the opening pressure is lower than the design pressure, the opening pressure of the intake valve is insufficient, and the gas filling time slows down. During the period from startup to the pressure rising to 5.5 bar (using conventional pressure as an example), the oil leakage problem caused by low exhaust pressure as described in Article 7 will also occur.
Solution: Repair the minimum pressure valve, adjust the spring stroke, and replace it if necessary.
9. ① Oil separation problem: Poor quality oil separation cores were used for maintenance, resulting in poor separation effect; Mismatched oil separators were used. If the type is incorrect, the low-pressure machine used atmospheric oil separators. If the size is incorrect, the length and size are different Air filter problem: Poor quality air filter element used, oil separation dirty and blocked; ③ Inadequate inspection and maintenance, clogged air filter or damaged intake hose, resulting in dirty and clogged oil separation and oil leakage.
Solution: ① It is recommended to use Jaguar original consumables for maintenance and upkeep; ② Perform daily inspections and maintenance according to the user manual requirements.
10. Post processing issue: Improper configuration or expired use of precision filters.
Processing method: ① Select a suitable precision filter; ② Replace the precision filter core on time.
